Fresh lamb and fish are just the beginning of all the wonderful Scottish food that the Thistle Bistro and Lounge Bar have to offer. The bistro is open from May to October, but you can get food the whole year at the Lounge Bar. And yes, it's the same great quality. In Lairg, the Thistle Bistro and Lounge Bar are highly rated by the locals. Furthermore, guests are also lyrical about the friendly staff and great Scottish food. It's affordable and high quality. What more can you wish for? At the Thistle Lounge Bar, you can taste a wide range of whiskies, wines, and beers.

So, what about Lairg itself? Lairg is a small village with about 800 people living in it. It's located on the banks of Loch Shin. It's mostly known for the largest sheep trade in a single day and it has a large rail station in the North. Yes, Lairg is a quiet little town, but that doesn't mean you have to get bored. It offers breathtaking scenery with different mountain and Loch views. It's great for hiking or watersport enthusiasts. The Ord Archaeology Trail is recommended. It brings you to the Cairs and stone burial sites built by prehistoric people. It’s quite remarkable and an overall fun hike to do. It will take about an hour and in total the trail is 1.3 miles long.
